One of Taylor’s first wooden framed kinetic sculptures, designed and made during a residency at the Nordisk Kunstnarsenter, Dale, Western Fjords, Norway.
With Fischil and Weiss’ The Way Things Go in mind, this sculpture was designed around eight Hyacinths and their extraordinary growth. The small watering cans were perfectly poised above the plants growing shoots, and were nudged off balance as the tips grew, pouring water into the adjacent plant. This meant that there was a reciprocal watering system set up to enable all plants to water each other as time went on.
First exhibited at Royal Scottish Academy Open Exhibition, Edinburgh in 2000.
