Harvest Banquet, 2015

Old Kirk and Muirhouse Church, Edinburgh Commissioned by Centipede Project and North Edinburgh Arts

A celebration of food and local growers incorporated with an art installation to highlight food poverty. The Harvest Banquet in October 2015 was attended by 100 local residents who all enjoyed a three-course meal prepared with intercepted and locally grown food.

Quotes about food poverty in the UK were printed onto the large plates that you can see on the walls while graces from around the world were printed onto the real plates that sat at every fifth place at the dinner table. There were no seats at those places to highlight the food poverty fact that ‘20% of people in the UK are affected by food poverty’ (correct in October 2015).
